Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rentals Liability Agreement:
I acknowledge that any equipment rented or checked out through NMSU Outdoor Recreation is provided for my personal use and that I am responsible for the equipment from the time it is issued until it is returned to NMSU Outdoor Recreation. I agree to use all rented equipment in accordance with NMSU Outdoor Recreation policies, staff instructions, manufacturer recommendations, and the intended purpose of the equipment, and I will not loan, transfer, or allow unauthorized individuals to use the equipment. I agree to return all equipment by the date and time specified in the rental agreement, clean, dry, and in good working condition, with all components and accessories included. Equipment returned after the designated due date or time will be assessed a flat $15.00 late fee, in addition to any applicable rental charges. I understand that I am financially responsible for any equipment that is lost, stolen, damaged, excessively dirty, or returned with missing components, including reasonable costs associated with cleaning, repair, or replacement. Replacement or repair charges may be assessed based on the current cost to repair or replace the equipment. Failure to return rented equipment or pay applicable fees may result in suspension of rental privileges and/or referral to the appropriate NMSU office for collection or other action permitted by University policy. By renting or checking out Outdoor Recreation equipment, I acknowledge these responsibilities and accept the risks associated with the proper use, transportation, and care of the equipment.
