Sam Zahn

Sam is an experienced yoga instructor dedicated to promoting accessibility through virtual classes and private sessions in Las Cruces, NM. Her mission focuses on empowering students to develop sustainable home yoga practices through her platform, Wild Flow Yoga.

 

 

Javier Montejano

As an experienced 200 RYT instructor with a diverse background in mountain biking, Zumba, education, and running, Javier initially perceived yoga to be enjoyable and straightforward. However, his first class revealed that yoga was more challenging than anticipated. Yet, the unexpected discovery of inner peace and joy deeply resonated with him.

 

Spin Instructors

Deandria Olaya Guerra

Deandria has been a key figure in Las Cruces since 2018, inspiring healthier lifestyles through her diverse fitness classes like HIIT circuit training and Step Fusion. She also teaches Burlesque and Hip-Hop, fostering creativity and confidence, and leads energizing Spin classes at NMSU that challenge participants with music and positivity.

 

Miley Grandjean

Miley, a devoted mother balancing career and family, has found Spin to be more than just exercise—it's a vital part of her life. Despite managing knee and foot issues, Spin's dynamic classes provide both a physical challenge and mental clarity. Miley's inclusive teaching approach ensures all participants feel welcome, emphasizing modifications for diverse needs and fostering a supportive community of camaraderie and acceptance.

Chris Dooley

Chris Dooley, a certified Wim Hof Method Instructor and Advanced Oxygen Advantage Instructor, dedicates his time to empowering others through the transformative power of breath work and cold exposure. With two young children keeping him on his toes, Chris finds solace and rejuvenation through road biking, mountain biking, and sharing his love for exercise as a spinning class instructor.

Dessie Brice

In 2021, Dessie and her husband moved to Las Cruces, bringing her passion for fitness. With an NASM Personal Training Certification since 2013, Dessie founded Tailored Fitness in Washington State, offering personal training and group classes while promoting community wellness. She values ongoing education for achieving optimal client results and believes fitness is inclusive and adaptable for everyone. Now at NMSU, Dessie looks forward to sharing her expertise with the community.

 

Zumba/Zumba Toning Instructors

Erika Ojeda

Erika has been teaching Zumba Fitness for nearly 14 years with a passion for its versatility and stress-relief benefits. Her classes create a supportive community where participants explore global music and embrace dance. Erika is certified in Zumba Toning, Zumba Kids, and Strong by Zumba, aiming to guide others on their health and wellness journeys for years to come. 

 

 

Shadai Martin

Shadai is an associate professor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics Science at NMSU and a registered dietitian. She enjoys taking and teaching Zumba and has been teaching Zumba intermittently since 2016. Zumba takes her mind off of her worries and makes her feel free. Born an island girl, being at the ocean makes her feel whole. Zumba is not just about the steps, it's about the feeling; come and join the party! 

Groove Instructor

Rose

Rose is a devoted chemical engineering student at NMSU who discovered her passion for teaching Groove in Castle Rock, CO, three years ago. Combining rhythmic movements with the intensity of HIIT workouts, Groove became Rose's platform to share the joy of dance. Her classes are inclusive and exhilarating, designed to empower participants of all dance backgrounds to find their groove, boost confidence, and ignite inspiration.

Beginner Pilates Instructor

Kelsie

Kelsie is a recent Aggie graduate! She has loved her time here at NMSU, especially the Activity Center. Kelsie is so excited to stick around to teach beginners Pilates! Pilates is a low-impact exercise that focuses on building strength, flexibility, and balance. It's like a mind-body workout where you pay close attention to your body's alignment and breathing.
