Outdoor Leadership Program

The NMSU Outdoor Leadership Program (OLP) is a comprehensive leadership training program designed to prepare students to take an active role in planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating high quality Outdoor Recreation activities. OLP is an extensive training program focused on preparing skilled leaders through intensive training and professional certification.  The curriculum integrates the experiential education model, which challenges students mentally, physically and emotionally, developing responsibility, communication, decision-making and respect.  The OLP combines leadership development, outdoor skills training, wilderness medicine, environmental stewardship, critical thinking, mentoring, and evaluation.

To Apply:

Applications are accepted every Fall and Spring semester. Application deadline for Fall 2014 is September 4th, 2014 in room 230 of the Activity Center by 5pm. Applications must include:

  • Resume
  • Letter of Interest
