Rec Sport student employees receive awards
On Thursday, October 25, 2012 NMSU Rec Sports recognized three outstanding student employees for their high moral character and commitment to excellence within their respective fields, shown through dependability, leadership, and work ethic. Teddy Atkins was awarded the Vaughn Corley Award, which began in 1978, and recognizes an employee that exemplifies excellence within Intramurals at New Mexico State University. Teddy is an intramural sports manager and has worked for NMSU Rec Sports for over two years. He is currently studying to become a teacher.Megan McCravey was the first award winner of the Jack Welch Excellence in Aquatics Award. She is a senior lifeguard and has worked for the Aquatic Center for over three years. She hopes to become a trauma nurse after she finishes her studies at NMSU.Benjamin Dove was the first award winner of the Paul LaPorte Excellence in Recreational Sports Award. Benjamin has been a student aide at the Activity Center for the past two years and is majoring in kinesiology.
All award winners received a cash or scholarship award, a plaque commemorating their achievement, and have their name placed on the permanent display in the Rec Sports Office.
